Does this addon create an optimal UW Unwrap for the selected object/faces or is it's main selling point simply that it packs the island extremely efficient ?

So if I do Smart UV unwrap the run this to optimize a UV, this will end up being a relatively good UV unwrap? Maybe not as good as by hand but still good looking?
