7 Tips To Make Guitar Practice Fun (part 1)

Today on episode 49 of the play guitar podcast it's about how to keep your guitar practice FUN. I’ve got 7 tips for all levels of guitarists to keep your practice fun and effective.

What’s fun about playing the guitar? And what's fun about practicing?
This is a tricky subject. Fun is enjoyment. Fun is about being happy while you do something or experience something.

Some who play the guitar get enjoyment from just playing guitar. No matter if it is practicing or playing, it’s just enjoyable to just pick up the guitar and play. Any time that these players have to pick up the guitar, it’s a good time!

But that is not the case for all of us. The fun meter for a lot of guitar players is all over the place. A lot of the time it is a drastic change as well. Extreme fun can easily lead to a sharp fall off into frustration, confusion, and even boredom.

Today i’m going to cover the first 2 steps, which are:
make fun a priority and having a great sounding practice.

My thing is, I practice songs but I also have an isolated practice time to technique and timing. The thing about it is it’s repetitive. No matter what back track I use it’s still annoying because it’s usually hard and I have to slow it down so much it’s boring

The thing that makes it not fun is how long it takes for me to play a song perfect without mistakes. I'm currently almost 1 year in electric guitar, and getting the right tone for a song it's so complicated

my problem is not that i work smth to death, i just practice it to death but im not ever getting it. Like the goddamn dminor to gmajor in sixpense none the richers kiss me. Im not getting it. i practiced it every other day for mooonths
