Cynthia Erivo is NOT here for the edits fans made to the 'Wicked’ movie poster. How do you feel about what she had to say?

She needs to get a grip! Get over it! That’s the most offensive thing she’s ever seen? Then she has lived a charmed existence.

No the eye thing is not a fair point. That is complete nonsense. There is many famous actors which portrayed complex characters and emotions with complete facial covering. This is just modern Hollywood’s bruised ego where if you cover up an actors/actress face for half a second they have a mental breakdown.

When celebrities call out people editing their bodily proportions: YES

When narcissists cry about not being able to see their mediocre gaze in a fan edit: NO

A fan made this .. just want to link the movie back to the broadway play. They are just genuinely excited for the movie. And you threw this back in that community's face. Your poster has been digitally edited .. so it is part illustrated. Get a grip.

It's completely narcissistic and unhinged reaction

I sense that she's probably not the type that can understand this, but there are moments in life where you're wrong, as in, you're not ALWAYS right. This is one of those moments. This play meant something to people LONG before she came along. This play was popular and endeared LONG before she came along. They changed one of the most popular posters in Broadway history and she's offended that someone slightly altered it to look like the famous poster? What's sad is that it was probably some super excited fan who created the poster, and she killed that joy for them and a lot of other people with her ridiculous response.

When she says “it degrades us”… who is “us”?

I fear this put a bad taste in a LOT of people’s mouth in whether they wanna see it now. I see why she’s hurt but I think this kind of comment over a fan edit made a lot viewers change their mind about seeing it.

Nah. She could have said something kind and be praised, but instead she went 100% self absorbed and brought bad publicity to herself, I’ll wait for it on Netflix now.

I feel bad for the fan who made that edit. They were probably just excited for the movie and trying to make something creative :(

Fan edit looks better than the promo poster. Conveys mischievous and mysterious much better than the actress’s blank assed stare. Someone should tell her she’s going for “wicked” not psychopathic.

This is the end of any form of entertainment.

If she finds it offensive or upsetting them she needs to experience more of life.

I was excited to finally see this movie after all these years but her attitude towards the fan poster has made me think otherwise

I think she’s getting ahead of herself and just wants to play victim so bad. 1, they aren’t taking away from her nor how she expresses herself, all they did was make the poster look more like the original, for nostalgia and paying credits to the play (for the record her eyes kinda look soulless staring in the OG poster). 2, I can guarantee you most people aren’t there to see YOU, they’re there to see Elphaba. You are an actor. YOU aren’t who’s starring in the movie, you’re playing a character. So that accounts back to #1, she’s acting as if it’s ’erasing her’ (a simple poster mind you, with WAY worse things going on in the world right now) when there shouldn’t be ‘her’ in the role. Yes, she can put a spin on it, but YOU aren’t the focus.

She made a nonissue an issue. She’ll be okay. It’s not that deep and it’s crazy how some people beg to be victims.

Ohhh how I love the internet. It gives narcissistic celebrities who are used to only having yes men around them a well deserved, humbling moment.

The fan made poster is so much better anyways! Even accented the lips more ❤
