My cousin once asked me if he practised jumping enough would he be able to jump up on the roof? Such a grand and intoxicating innocence.

I like how when you take fall damage it sounds like you're getting punched.

Honestly one of the greatest things about the game. You start out moving so slow, but once you hit 100 speed/strength and 100 acrobatics/athletics you can zip around, jump on top of things easily, and get all sorts of place you couldn't starting out. For how awful it is getting past the first 40 points in those skills, it's so rewarding once you have to zip around effortlessly.

Well done Todd, a character with powerful enough legs to jump 14 feet in the air, but not stick the landing.
Perfectly balanced.

can confirm, jumping is the best way of traveling in Morrowind

Takes me back to my first elder scrolls character, an argonian accidental acrobat

Upon discovering that skill use actually increases said skill, he jumped everywhere. Literally everywhere unless he was swimming

Kinda strange though....i'm pretty sure higher acrobatics also reduces fall damage quite a

Honestly knowing it’s morrowind you didn’t need to put no hacks

Now if we could combine this with Daggerfall's climbing ability in a fluid way it'd be perfect.

This was always the first thing I did in a new playthrough. . It's so funny being able to jump up as high as a cliff racer and then (miss) (miss)
No combat best combat.

“I can’t believe Bethesda oversimplified the levelling system! It used to be so better back in Morrowind”

An example of a good RPG: you could become anyone. Even Spiderman or Assassin's Creed

At 125 Acrobactics all fall damage will be negated. It's better than feather falling, because it doesn't slow you down or effect your jumps in any negative way. Try jumping across Vvardenfall with Jump spells to notice the difference between the two variants.
You can get the Fortify Skill Enchantment from several DLC npcs.

Played Morrowind for the first time ever in 2022. Immediately found out jumping was both faster and more fun than walking (even if your stamina is depleted). When my acrobatics reached lvl 100, by athletics (walking) was still in the low 30's. So broken yet so beautiful.

There are no words to describe the supreme sense of calm and peace I obtain whenever I hear morrowind ambience. All my worries and fears disappearing for a short while replaced with a wave of nostalgia. Of the desire to live in a world of my fantasies, a desire that has almost disappeared as I age.
Now I live in reality like an adult, but for a short while I am a child again.

What I would do is enchant something with a constant effect Slowfall 1. Just a single point negates fall damage if you're sick of breaking your ankles every ten seconds!
A castable Jump enchantment for 1 second is also neat to have.

the most important part is that you must be naked for that.
today they make games where you just pull fort Knox in your pocket through the game and still move freely

I remember one of my first characters, an argonian with 100 acrobatics and really nothing special in any other stats. I would jump everywhere and was constantly snapping my legs and getting stuck on top of stuff or in between colliding meshes. One time I consumed everything in my inventory mid-jump and my character immediately collapsed to the ground and refused to get up no matter how long I waited. I miss those days.

Welp, time to fire up morrowind again.
