I really appreciate someone taking the time to reanimate Hegel's corpse so he could talk to us about Plato.

Good antidote to what I sensed was an extremely uncharitable explanation by Bertrand Russell in his History of Western Philosophy. Thanks for posting!

Its just realizing that beauty for instance is solely a state of Mind. So by exploring Beauty Itself we can explore Mind Itself. And from doing that we can come to Know, not belief, Ultimate Reality.

So first of all I really love his outfit and the entire vibe. But my ADHD brain needs a faster speed of talking and more drama so I couldn't really focus and don't know what he said

What is more important than the theory itself is the justification for it. why should we belive that things are the way you say they are and how it compares to other theories and how well it can be defended agaist criticism

No, Plato would not argue that Plato argued for the self illumination of the self justice and courage is part of what he referred to as the one that is bound in your own self experience. You keep dissecting it, and dissociating from us silly man.

I don't think *we* innately have knowledge of anything before experiencing the world, let alone the perfect forms of everything. Justice and beauty etc., we can say these things existed before they were observed, but it's not before we discover these things, imitations of them at the very least, that we even know they exist, at all.

I guess that's all pretty basic... he did say "latent". I might have to say I disagree, to a large degree these are man-made concepts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no eye, no beauty. Beyond good and evil 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Yes I contradicted myself. I would say, (without enough thought, no doubt, ) that beauty, for example, doesn't exist without the mind to interpret it. Another being could be inversely repulsed by all which we find beautiful and find beauty in that which we consider disgusting or ugly. Then what is beauty's true form? It just feels like "eye of the beholder" totally dismantles this idea... and it's a quip.

Edit2: Oh, Aristotle.

Those traits and responses to them are universal among man to a large extent, its philosophical is incorrect the answers to this lie in the science of genetics you see many think the question is mental, its not its evolution asking the correct science the question is arguably more important than asking the right question.

I don’t get the purpose in digesting the complexities of Greek philosophical thought. Hinduism is the epitome of straightforwardness and divine truth.

The theory “unproven” of the forms by Plato for “ Justice, beauty, and the like” are pure selective wishful biases for that amusing thesis.
