rainbow gun is underwhelming, because it's not meant to be your main source of damage. it's more of a support weapon, as you can still switch to another weapon that is actually your main damage dealer, to boost your dps even more

The Rainbow Gun is part of a magic subclass of stationary magic weapons. Exactly like Nimbus Rod or the Clinger Staff the Rainbow Gun is just a far more powerful version of that but for some reason people dont seem to understand that. Its amazing in events and bossfights for passive damage and shreds Old Ones Army.

You putting desert tiger staff in S made me happy, because as a summoner fiend, people really don’t realize how fast it shreds everything once you have a few summon slots

Rainbow and Hydra have a similar quality of being drop-and-forget. both are free damage, can be used pretty well, but could both use a buff.

Ngl I personally never try and get the desert tiger because it gets outclassed by many good summons at a similar stage in game, for example Terraprisma, and later the Stardust Dragon

Rainbow gun is S Tier, just shoot one massive rainbow and then use other weapons

Frost hydra staff is the best sentry to pre place for 3rd tier of old one's army, it's definetely not d tier. Idk how tiger went to the S tier, it's just a gimmick for 1 time to use with firecracker. Rainbow gun is just a free damage, while it's not being necessary weapon to obtain - its not worthless to go for it if you accidentally found the key. Vampire knives are kinda contraversial, they can be S with tanky build but meh on other builds, so its probably best to have them on A tier

I remember using the vampire knives to grind plantera and golem in old gen years ago… it made it so easy

The frost dragon staff can do very high dps if you get enough of them but then the problem is doing old ones but I think it’s worth it as you can get some really good dps with it

I agree with everything except frost staff, cuz its actually the best non OOA sentrie in the game, of course not counting endgame's

Rainbow gun is awesome though, just place it and change to another weapon, it’s free damage! And it shreds invasions and the old one’s army.

Rainbow gun is meant to be a support weapon but I guess if you’re ranking by it alone it’s d tier

As soon as I saw you put rainbow gun in D I disregarded the whole list lol.. just like any other DOT effects in any game, you apply it first, then switch to your main weapon to DRASTICALLY increase your dps, just like poison or a burn or ichor. I also keep it in my first slot as a mage, next to my golden shower

the rainbow gun is like that one gun in your 9th slot that just is there for optional dps like destroyer or golem

When me and my cousin used to play, he would be a support mage and I'd be using beetle armor with vampire knives, he used me as a tank and we never lost more than 50% hp, I was literally tanking golem with turtle armor just standing there throwing knives at him😂
