My son adores John Oliver. I generally watch LWT episodes the day after they air, but I assumed that my son wasn't paying attention because he was 5.
Oh, how wrong I was!
Like me, he has autism and is prone to echolalia (repeating EVERYTHING). We were in my car and he recited an ENTIRE episode of LWT, right down to John Oliver's facial expressions and gesticulations, and the swear words. It was hilarious and a bit worrisome too. I figured it was a phase and he'd move on to a new thing to be excited about. Well, he's almost 12 years old and his love of "Joliver" is as strong as ever! He knows that he's not supposed to swear, except during "Joliver time, " when he gets to bask in cussing and knowledge. It's honestly adorable to watch him get so animated and excited about learning something new, even if it's a new way to cuss with class.

The thing that I like about John - and what I believe draws many people to him - is that he obviously, delightfully loves to laugh. And not just chuckle or snort or smirk or snicker, no.
