I didn't need any chart to tell me Michael is KING OF POP. He was born with the crown 👑

From 1979 to 1997, Michael Jackson sold more records than any other music artist, and it's not even close. Michael Jackson was only competing against himself.

The Goat if only Invincible got more promotion then maybe it would’ve lasted longer

Michael Jackson isn’t the king of pop, he’s the King Of All Genres 💪💯👑

Imagine having a streak of 20 years being at the top! That's crazy! Especially since his music is still trending and he's still a big artist.

He's just unmatchable to other artists.

Not the king of pop, he is and will always be the king of Music, period. I feel so blessed to have lived at the same time the king did. Miss you, Michael.

The lack of new releases after the late 90s didn't help. The Invincible album came out but wasn't supported by any commercial singles in the USA. Its hard to sell when you don't have any singles out to sell.

Man if Michael was still alive today I feel he would have complete took over the charts with new albums and singles.

I only know very briefly that an album was in production from around 2003 to 2009 and was supposedly meant to be released in 2010 he would have been the king of the 2010s :(

I really hope you make a Video of the supposed ‘bible album’ and other unnamed albums!!!

yeesss. And you should do that graphic for the year 2009. The way his record sales broke the ceiling that year and years to come after... is unmatched by any artist that has passed away

So cool he's number 1 even when he has year's of not releasing albums

You can’t base it on numbers Michael is the greatest artist of all times and that’s out of question, a real genius of music.

'off the wall' at its time was the biggest selling album by a black artist. it was also the first to spawn 4 top 10 singles. his success in '79-80 doesn't surprise me.

This chart is inaccurate about 1997 Michael Jackson had the best selling album in 1996 and 1997 with his History album ! He was on the history tour the best selling tour in history ! It had more audience than Thriller even

This chart is odd. So they accurately show the broken-up Beatles and deceased Elvis re-appearing in the 80s/90s as a result of their impact lasting so long. But they don't show Michael Jackson again after his death even though his sales and popularity skyrocketed in 2009. It was monumental and this chart ignores that. After about 2000, the chart seems to ignore deceased artists/broken up groups altogether.
