Ferrari 430 Scuderia - Learning The Hard Way

Here is the story of how I crashed my Ferrari F430 Scuderia...

My first Ferrari and what I class as my first supercar was a Ferrari F430 Scuderia. It was the genesis for my love for Ferrari and 'proper' supercars and to this day stands as my favourite car because of this reason. Unfortunately it's days were numbered when i introduced it to a tree and wrote the car off. Crashing the Ferrari into a curb and then a tree would forever recalibrate the way I drive and analyse a road...

Alright lets talk about this title ha ha - so, i'm yet to have created a video title that has turned out to be 'click bait' so I didn't expect this one to turn out to be any different! However, it seems a lot of people are deeply affected by this title (what a world we live in) so would you like me to put "How" at the beginning of the title so we can all sleep at night? It was not intended to be misleading, hope you found the story interesting nonetheless!?

Edit: Oh wait. For some reason I thought you crashed it in this video

Great vid James, loved the style where you did a chat but at proper speed intercut with beauty shots and flashbacks. Good stuff.

Thanks for sharing the story James! The title is totally fair (NOT clickbait). Love that your dad filmed... he's got youtube in his blood lol

I dont see why everyone is crying about the video being "Clickbait" when its far from it. James had a Scuderia and he crashed it, its fact and is talked about in the video. Good to know you and your passenger was unharmed!

I was getting a bit bored of all those car spotters, car vloggers and even Shmee. Then you emerged on Youtube with a refreshing way of filming/editing and a richer content. You make less videos but in the end they are much more entertaining and we can feel the true passion for cars.
Most of all, the people you meet or who appear in your vids are really interesting and that is a great added value.

Anyone claiming this video is clickbait is ridiculous. The title and the thumbnail are entirely relevant to the video.
On a lighter note, enjoyed finally getting to hear the story, thanks for sharing it with us

Wow what a story James, crashing your Ferrari in a curb, and no injuries, it sounds akward, but I think that's a learning experience you never forget, I think it changes the way you drive now, thanks for sharing Mr JWW

I bet you can still hear that crunch when you close your eyes. That sound will NEVER go away. Ever. Just glad you're okay...

Don't understand how people are perceiving the title/thumbnail as "clickbait", the title perfectly describes the contents of the video, while the thumbnail gives a good visual to the audience - along with the other visuals indicated by the thumbnail in the actual video. Great story James, thanks for being real enough to share this story haha!

Admit it you're disappointed the crash wasn't in this video

Resonated with your experience as well. Written of my small humble hatchback because I was going into the corner way too quick. The lesson that accident taught me is priceless. It really teaches you to be much much safer and more aware about the roads when you're driving ever since.

The Scuderia is still one of my most favourite cars of all time. Absolutely love it!

I just did something very similar last summer! Same thing, I was too comfortable with a road very close to home, ended up going to fast on this double right and went off nailed an embankment and knocked 2 big trees. Scrubbed alot of speed so from 140km-80km ish. I was in my track r32 skyline so we had no airbags, the sparco seats and harnesses did a fabulous job at keeping us in. It kinked the passenger side floor up and crushed the lf corner in really bad. Same thing several months of depression and regret, even the reviewing the crash. I was more or less worried about my co drivers safety than the car. You become wiser and more cautious for sure. I am glad you guys were fine aswell!

James the thing I really like about your videos is that no matter the topic or who the passenger may be, you really take us a long for the ride. Your "YouTuber" mates do it well too, but IMO I think you do it best. (Mike in Ohio)

Wow you were so lucky James; when I crashed my 456GT it cost me my left leg! Ferrari's are sublime but they ain't built for crashing.

So true what you said about the way a bad accident completely resets your driving style and your description of walking the scene made my spine tingle as I did the same thing when I was finally able to.

Thanks for posting this, hopefully it will act as a cautionary tale for someone and prevent their own accident.
