Jackfruit is a very tasty fruit, but if it is unripe, it is hard to touch, it is not sweet, it is starchy and hard to digest. If you have an unripe jackfruit, you just need to wait until it gets softer and thus ripper. With this simple technique I am showing you in this video, you can speed up the jackfruit ripening time. This technique could be also applied to other fruits.

This is the first time I've heard that you can ripen jackfruit after being cut. Thank you! You just saved me $20.

Thank you Marina for this video :) i bought a Jackfruit at the Nepali store in Vienna and wasnt sure if its ripe because the skin was already getting darker and softer so i cut it at the end to look inside but it wasnt ripe yet. So I was checking google and this video was the second video in yhe search. Clicked on it and realized it’s your video! Hehe thank you for the tips! Glad that it will continue to ripen and i did not waste 30 euros haha. Much love.

OK, she makes me want to go find a jackfruit. Need to learn what parts to eat, like that middle thing and such. Never tried it, but I am in.

Hola! :D Your trick to ripen Jackfruit worked wonders!!! I was able to find one, here in Québec and it was very fragrant and sweet! I was wondering if the same trick was applicable to the soursop? Do you know? Thank you!! :)

I suggest using a paper bag as it will still allow the fruit to it to ripen but not trap moisture potentially causing mold, although the chances of that happening in such a short time are low

Do you think tropical fruit bought in American grocery stores is still full of all the nutrients?

Hi we cut the jackfruit since it seems like it’s rotting in the dark spots outside but it wasn’t sweet when I tasted it. I put it in plastic wrap, now my question is do I have to store it in the fridge or just room temp? Thanks

so it will still ripen if I cut mine in half way too early? It was practically white. I wrapped it in saran wrap and put it in a paper bag

Wow...sacrificed a dozen bananas for a jackfruit.
Next time, it you actually have to take 48hrs to ripen the fruit, try packing it in a gunnybag or a clean warm cloth. That should have the same effect.
