Hello from the Future, Just wanted to say your were spot on with this review. Also now that i3s are for sale used, they are going for less than half what they were new, with less than 20k miles on them thanks to Lease Returns. I myself snagged a 2018 i3s for 21k and utterly love it! After hacking it with Bimmercode and unlocking all it's features, I get 180-210 miles of range (133 on the battery and 85 via the Rex). Highly suggest anyone watching this give the i3 a good hard look and drive, being RWD I find it as fun as a mini clubman in the turns and it's a real rocket on the on-ramps!

Everyone keeps saying that other EVs such as the Bolt, Kona, Leaf and the base version of the Model 3 are cheaper and have more range.. Thats fine if you want just an EV, but those that are loyal to BMW and want that German engineering will buy the i3S regardless of the high price tag.

Good review. The i3 despite its range compare to other electric vehicles, it is still the most innovative and sustainable built car on the market. The car has a lot future potential with software tweaking. Although I don’t have one, the looks have grown on me and I’m looking at purchasing one used as the price for these EVs depreciate too fast. I’m holding out for the 120Ah version bev or Rex.

I'm not really sure why you ding the vehicle for having one pedal driving 'like an amusement park ride' as this not only helps with range, but is also kind of cool. I took one on an extended test drive for an hour, and was used to it within the first ten minutes.

Hit all the points. I just leased a 2018 Kia soul ev and I tried out all the EVs available as of May. You did not mention the turn radius of the i3. The turn radius in an urban environment sets it apart from many. Also for a car meant to be an urban assault vehicle, dropping off the back seat passengers requires a full stop and front passenger to exit. Also the carbon fiber floor door "ridge" area felt like getting in and out of a bathtub. Even with all that, I wanted it, but wanted something more sedan like. As such I punted. Leased a kia for 3 years until more variety hits the market.

have second one for 6 years, this thinga are solid, just getting used to some quarks. Big deal.
-it stops quck, you will lear to take advantage to the point it is safer, and you saveon break pads.
-is a fugly, well 80% of the people in public like it. so bad in the eye of a few beholders. who cares we are the one paying for no gass not ridicokus maintennace
- does not rust, nada zip imposible, well the disk drum but that is all cars.
- it beat some BMW titans, those bmw drivers loose a gasket. i love itt.
-tank is full every morning, nongas ststion to pay $$$$
