Just my personal take on things but I think at 2:21, Melodii is in some sort of way resisting the darkness. Near the end of that short moment, at 2:46, Butter Man came in to stop Melodii from escaping the darkness in a way. (Maybe an instinct also due to them being consumed by the darkness and kinda just being mindless zombies.)
