Amelia lives in a time when abnormal behavior could be enough reason to be admitted, and lobotomies were considered "common medical procedures". We watch the struggles of this teenage girl, fighting to defy the system she's in to save her sanity. This parallels to modern society in how we treat the people in the mental health or institutional systems.

I really liked the first person perspective in the operations room. Very deep story man. Gave me some American Horror Story vibes if that's good. I mean it in a good way, very good film Very nice.
