I have absolutely no mind's eye but on the other hand I can easily conjure up voices, sounds or songs

I have complete aphantasia. I don’t see a blank screen. I see blackness. Every-time I close my eyes, I see blackness. Complete blackness, every single time.

He explains it perfectly. I’ve known this about myself since 1988 as a teenager. The name was coined in 2005-2010 by a research group. Those who can see vivid images and have photographic memory are called Hyperphantasia. This oddly enough is my brother

Interestingly this disorder does NOT make people less creative. In fact, limitations are the most powerful stimulus for creativity. When you can't build a house out of bricks and stone, you're forced to come up with something off the beaten path. Normal people think in normal ways, which by definition makes them uncreative. I knew someone with this condition, and she was actually very into physical crafts

when i was little i used to visualize stuff in my head all the time, and had an internal monologue. it all slowly left me and i haven’t been able to visualize anything for years now, very strange.

It feels like a punishment 😢 I was furious when i realized others could actually visualize these things. Did i do something im another life? Wth

me, I can't visualize anything, but i can like think what it would look like without seeing it. so idk if i have aphantasia or not

I used to be able to picture stuff very detailly, to the point where I wasn't sure if my eyes were closed or not when trying to sleep. I never saw black when closing my eyes, either a visualization of something or just random colors like I am tripping.

But ever since I am on certain medication, I completely lost the ability to visualize things and I didn't realize that till months after. I wonder if it is the medication to begin with as no one on that medication ever lost the ability to visualize but that is the only thing that changed in my life the past year.

I really dont know if i have aphasia. Like, i KNOW how stuff looks like that I've seen. I can exactly recall it in my mind, but i dont see it (i think?) Like, if i close my eyes i see black. Only black
