As a Canadian, I've only had an "instant Bovril". Almost like an instant coffee/cup noodle spice packet mixed with boiling water.

They were awesome for camping and really any time you were out in damp, miserable weather. Like a more classic hot drink, but with the taste of a light soup with lots of salt. Not bad at all
