Sacking Jose the week of the cup final and appointing Ryan Mason is all you need to know about the mentality created by the owners.

Conte said it " big club in name, small club in mentality" and they sacked him when they were 4th

He wasn't just talking about the fans. He specifically said "inside, outside, everywhere." He's obviously seen/heard things from people involved in the club that suggested winning wasn't a priority. Sturridge is right, there's something else gone on there and it's not as simple as players he can get.

Mourinho and Conte called spurs out and they got lambasted, and Ange is calling spurs out and will eeventually be lambasted for it aswell. It doesnt matter which coach you bring, offensive defensive, if you're not going to set a stabdard for winning then you're not going far as a club. Shambolic from spurs

“I think the fans deserve better than that” the same fans that turned up and didn’t support their team and actively wanted to lose - what they deserve is exactly what they’ve got, Europa league football and manager that hates them.

Not investing in Poch's team for two windows, sacking Jose a week before a final, prioritising UCL over domestic trophies, sacking Conte when we're 4th. I've been a Spurs fan for 40 years and I agree with everything Ange said. Fragile foundations and a glass ceiling.

He’s talking about the mentality of the fans and some people inside the organisation. He wasn’t inferring they’re not spending enough money. This is a massive misinterpretation

The Spurs fans who have been the most vocal about the club showing a lack of ambition are the ones who were celebrating their team losing out on possibly getting top 4 and all the financial rewards it brings to improve the team.

Do not underestimate Ange's willingness to leave at the end of the season. He would consider the fan's behaviour as toxic, and entrenched. He will see that they are not on the same page, and this is a big thing for him. He left the Australian coaching job straight after qualifying them for the World Cup. Not many managers would do this. His job wasn't under pressure. He felt that the hierarchy in Australian football didn't have the same beliefs as him. At Tottenham, he believes the fan base is the most important component, and if they don't have the same beliefs then he'll go. He has plenty of money, he's had his opportunity to manage in the PL, and most likely he'll get a job very quickly. He will not compromise on his principles. Don't be surprised if you wake up in the next couple of weeks, and see in the news that he has resigned.

Conte famously summed up Spurs perfectly before he got sacked.

Spurs fans celebrating a loss that eliminates them from CL qualification is truly small club mentality...

He still can't believe that the fans, players and higher ups celebrated losing to city just to prevent arsenal from winning.

I think Ange is just infuriated to see how unserious Tottenham are as a club. The players, fans and board were happy to phone in a game and lose out on top 4 just to spite their rivals who are light years ahead of them already. If you’re a serious manager then you should stay a million miles away from Tottenham, Jose, Conte and now Ange are all seeing how low the standards are

Tottenham fans live in a fantasy land. A big stadium and fan base doesn't make you a big team. Big teams win things. Tottenham have won next to nothing for 3 generations. For 2mths all the fans and press have banged on about Champions League football, and with that on the line, they'd rather lose so their "rival" won't win anything. Arsenal fans must surely consider other teams better rivals. It's hard to care about a team who doesn't take trophies off you. Postecoglou has won everywhere he's gone, the idea of losing for pub bragging rights must infuriate him. Its a small team mentality, and clearly this week it wasn't just the fans who had it based on what he said.

I dont think Ange was even targeting the owners with his comments. The whole club at Spurs is just used to failing. The supporters last night were more interested in making sure Arsenal didn't succeed, than qualifying for the Champions League. That says all you need to know about the club and its mentality from top to bottom.

That miss by Son whether on purpose or not sums up the small time mentality of that entire club from the players to the fanbase to the history.. Your fans celebrating when you lose is why you’re 63 years without a league title and counting
