Reviving a $500 Jeep Wrangler YJ - How Bad Could it be?

I bought this 1989 Wrangler YJ 4.2l for $500, and it needs... Everything. At least it's a 5 speed.. And Stellantis didn't make this one.

I've always had a soft spot for the YJ, especially with the 4.2 or the 4.0 and the 5 speed. They look like they'd be so fun on tighter dirt roads, and even trips to the grocery store, with the bouncy leaf spring setup.

My favorite of the modern(ish) and newer "wranglers" is the LJ. 2 door, a slightly extended wheelbase and body... Throw some 37s on it and it's perfect. And if your past restoration projects are anything to go by, this is finna be functional and bitchin.

Sweet revival! I would say finish deleting all the 80s crap and throw a regular carb on there. A whole vid of satisfying trashcan tosses. Then "restore" the wheels and get some fresh rubber, THEN sell it. Save the next owner the headache.
