I don't have a brother machine, but the tips regarding when to raise and lower the foot to take up the thread tension are helpful. After threading, the tension is the next tricky thing and I suspect my tension problems have a lot to do with poor threading technique.

I have endless problems with the upper and lower looper threads twisting as they come up through the thread tree, forming knots which then snag in the tension discs. I suspect that the reverse direction of steps 1 and 2 (in relation to the other 2 threads) are to blame. Switching the order, that is, 2 then 1, is helping somewhat.

Is this a brother 4234D?   Mine is too, but it is different, mine has a left/right button at the top, and I am told to thread the left needle first, then the right needle.   What's happening. I have been so stressed trying to thread this thing but it wont create a chain,   I know im doing something wrong, but what?  Can you tell me?

If you are going to teach people how to thread it, then please do it right. Upper looper is always threaded before the lower looper
