I sew professionally. I learned a long time ago NEVER EVER pull your thread out when you change a THREAD color. Instead, put the new color on the spool holder and cut the old color and tie them together. Then pull the new color through the guides and the needles and you are ready to go in less than a minute!

Thank you! It's really very clear both in your description and in lighting and framing. Just one thing: while it's probably not a big deal while threading, it still helps to have the thread guide bar fully raised so the thread doesn't snag on the reels. And thank you again. Very helpful to one who has not trod this path before.

Can you use cotton thread on all 4 dials or do you need to use the polyester -stretchy type thread for 2 of them?

THANK YOU! I’ve been putting off using my serger because I struggled so much with threading and that was using the manufacturers dvd! I think some of what I was doing wrong was not pulling all the threads to the back and under the pressure foot. I’m ready to go now!
