You may be using a Smith machine incorrectly. It seems counterintuitive, but you want to face the opposite direction of the hooks. This is going to make it very easy to rack and un-rack your weights. The last thing you want to do after a hard set is struggle to hook the weight back on the pin.

Um not sure if your right.. you need to face the mirror to ensure the clips engaged. The clicking sound alone isn’t enough as you can falsely think you clipped in and never engage.

It’s personal preference. If it’s comfortable to you with placing the hooks from the other side you can do it and vice versa. There is no right answer for a straight smith machine like this one.

Bad advice.... Most of us don't have that muscle memory of where the clips will be hooked. Could potentially cause someone who watchers your video to follow this advice and miss a hook. I'd rather look in the mirror to ensure I got it hooked secured.

Why do think those mirrors are in front of you? You should be facing the mirror which would also help to perfect your form.

Angle of the incline matters more than the hooks. Especially if youre benching, you need an angle that you are lifting up and back, which would be the opposite of what you have here..
If angle doesnt matter much in the lift, go ahead.. but at least mention this.

This method only compliments the starting rack position, typically a more controlled part of the movement. Most people bail on the lower part of the movement, now imagine trying to rack that bar to prevent it from descending uncontrollably. The best option is to face the mirror

So many wrongs on this video. Starting with the hooks facing. Do the opposite as told in the video, racking unracking will be way easier and comfortable.
