What an adventure with the cute kids! The pace is much slower in the South Island and suits caravanning ... you can drop your van off and explore in the car/ute for a few days. We’ve been caravanning STH Island full time for 3 months now, love meeting new neighbours everyday (and running into them a week later!). Best option in a post Covid world! Might see you on the road

A lot of UK caravanner use a battery drill with a jack winder adaptor. For the corner steadies. Save a lot of winding by hand.
