AWD is going to seriously take this to the next level. Corvette has been needing this since the mid engine upgrade. Now things get real interesting! Good going, Chevrolet.

Keep it affordable! We’re killing the supercar market at fractions of the cost! GM is doing something special with the C8. Would say one our great triumphs as Americans! Way to go & can’t wait to see what the future holds!

This clearly has an engine in the back, with electric motors driving the front. Awesome. C8 was already doing 3 second zero to sixties (not using one foot roll out rule, people). Can't wait to see what this does!

So you’re telling me I can drive a Corvette YEAR-ROUND in Minnesota now? I’m in. 🙌

Zora Arkus-Duntov would be so damn proud of the C8. It’s everything he wanted and more. The performance, the power, the Supercar looks, and a price to undercut the super car market.

Bring it! Chassis is ready for it, looking forward to seeing the details!

Dear Corvette, please tell GM to make online ordering and financing available for the US market. Corvette mid engine is a first then let's have more better and powerful variants, not the cofauvid if you know what I mean, in the pipeline for the market to choose. Let's go GM 🚀 🌙.

I've been a Z06 man since the C6 because it was NA. My other car - the daily - is a hybrid. Nevertheless, Corvette always seems to get my blood pumping and I'm still looking forward to seeing what they do with the hybrid and EV platforms on the C8 before coming to a final verdict. Keep doing what you're doing GM. ;-) I love it!

Probably worth noting that, along with the "E-Ray" trademark, GM also filed for the trademark of "Manta Ray"...

I’m excited for this but I just hope when they don’t make a fully electric corvette it’s only one model and they don’t make all the following Vettes electric.

There is no doubt that at least half of the reason to put the engine in the rear of the C8 was to electrify the front for an eventual hybrid power-train. The only questions are : one or two electric motors for the front, how big will the battery be, and whether or not it will have electric-only range. My guess is two motors, 5 or so kWh battery, and have very limited, if any, electric-only driving. The idea here is all-wheel drive (it's a foregone conclusion that this is the best way to put the power to the road and maintain daily driving if desired) and keeping fuel economy high enough as not to drag C.A.F.E. down unnecessarily. While the number of Corvettes sold aren't that much of an impact on C.A.F.E., every little bit counts. Some will hate on the electrification with their narrow-minded and politically-motivated thought processes, at the end of the day, Chevy SELLS CARS, and while its great having a fan base of "purists", they are not a non-profit company and must continue to innovate. If they didn't keep up with what's current, they'd have to charge over $100, 000 for a base Corvette to turn a profit while selling less than half of what they do now. Who knows, I might be wrong about this since Chevy has tried, and failed, to change the game with the Corvette (ZR-1 of the 90s with 32 valves only to abandon it), but I doubt this will happen again. All electric? That's a different discussion for another time.
