Just got out of the film, it is truly remarkable. A proper Hungarian Hussar look to the creature. I love it. So much symbolism and beauty to this film.

Count Orlok was just about the best part of the film. Everything about their interpretation seemed fresh, scary, and reasonably faithful to the source material. Bill Skarsgaard was impressive, and unrecognizable. (I wish I could say the same for the rest of the cast… whose scenes were often tedious to sit through).

I honestly cannot wait for this movie. The lack of appearance reminds me of Nicholas Cage on the lead up to Longlegs and them choosing to not show him. It is a good marketing strategy, that I hope more directors choose to do.

The late snooker legend, Willie Thorne was used as Count Orlok after Robert Eggers saw Thorne performing trick shots at Butlins in Minehead in 1993. Such was his horror at Thorne's appearance and demeanor that a young Eggers vowed to make a film about his life.

I think Eggers was merely adapting the description of Dracula Stoker relays when Harker first meets him at the castle. Obviously, Nosferatu is Dracula, no way around it. So between the Herzog adaption, and this current one there's stronger attempts to go back to the novel, and create something that feels closest to the novel while also maintaing some of the changes the silent film had made. On the other hand, since all adaptations of Nosferatu are set before the events of Dracula, you can just surmise this is the same demon, changing its name and appearance throughout time. Seemingly being vanquished only to return

You really do have to do something different here. The idea of him just pretending to be alive has always been a part of the appeal of Orlock, but him still trying to maintain his facial hair and clothes is so human

I’m so looking forward to this movie. I was disappointed at the Voyage of the Demeter last year. The reviews have been so over the top with many praising superlatives that I hope it lives up to that.

Robert eggers is by far the greatest director of tgis generation. There isnt a singal bad film. And love his fairy tale kind of look of his films.the wich the northman and lighthouse are all great movies and its refreshing that he dosent kneel to the woke mob and liberal studios. The northman he had to fight with the studio cause there was no gay lgbt people and black people calling it racists calling him a racist biggot. He said back he is recreating the past.there is no black people in ancient vikings.just look at the vikings vallalha show now the king is no joke a black woman who they gave her a real vikings kings name. Its like casting Brad pitt as martin lutheir king.Thisv was a huge blowback by nowegians and sweeds. They said it was a mockery to give an accurate real character as a black lady.ad she wasnt tge only one.nost likely vikings never even seen africans.idk but people sre pissed

Honestly, I like Orlok’s design in this movie, I don’t mind that he has some hair. Judging from one still from the first trailer, the back of his head appears rotten. I also like that he wears a fur cloak, which reminds me of a bat.

If they decide to make again another movie of Jack the reaper I want Robert eggers to be the director and once again bill skarsagard will don the character

I think, any deviation from the iconic Orlok look, is Always going to be controversial. I really hope he hasn't strayed too far, as Shrek's look was what made the original so memorable. Apparently, this new Orlok has a mustache 😬

Unless there's something I haven't seen, I'm pretty sure the reddit image is fake.

The audience review is the only one that matters.

Does Orlok have hair in this movie? It almost looks so.

Maybe he wears the Hungarian half-shaved hairstyle of the 16-17th Centuries. Only the hair above the forehead was left long.

I'm not gonna lie I'm sad they changed the design of the vampire, he has such an iconic look in the original film. A horrifying look as well.

They gave him a big mustache . That is odd.
