HD Touhou 12: UFO Stage 4

UFO is out!!! I got a normal 1CC after a couple tries, and here it is.

This isn't a great run (it's my first 1CC of the game) and so it's mainly just for people wanting to take a look and hear the music.

Will add commentary in a bit, trying to rush extra.

Stage 4's music is probably the best music I've ever heard in a normal stage.

That laser spin, oh my god. It puts Ran's and Yukari's spins to complete shame, and that's only on normal.

I haven't seen lunatic yet, but thinking about some of the attacks in this game out lunatic frankly scares the hell out of me.

@Twila27 Even though your comment is 10 months old,
Byakuren visits Makai (or is from it, or something. havent played UFO yet), which means, Makai itself, aka Shinki, might remerge soon.
Pretty much ZUN is saying "Time to ressurrect some old characters!"
Now, if he would bring Shikeiki and a few other famous WINDOWS characters back, thatd be nice.

@Nazuiko Hm, well, I don't know~...I think it's cool for fighting, PoFV-style, and StB-style games where they need the extra characters--but for the shooting games it'd be sort of repetitive, I think. Even if there were new bullet patterns from them, they could just as easily be new characters with new stories and music...But! No telling what ZUN will do next, I suppose.

I actually got to the final card of my first blind run and lost seconds away from winning ;_;

After that I messed around and practiced a bit... Got it my fifth full run.

SanaeB's spread shot is great, which is why I use her. Her bomb is great too, which I currently need to spam to get anywhere in lunatic =)

^^~ Everyone seems to be, makes me wonder if ZUN's ever considered opening up shop on any other stores outside of Japan, with all his fans he may be able to make a fair profit.

Even though I felt a squiggle in my soul when I looked at the place where I found UFO, and saw Umineko ni Chiru's first episode as a 1.9 GB .iso file...

ZUN went for a really interesting style this time around, and it was hit and miss. Stage 6's stage music is amazing though.

This -whole- game is like ZUN dangling the PC-98 fans a treat, isn't it? XD

Chiyuri 2.0 here (awesome theme though, love the piano) is like a toss to those conspiracies about Yumemi's comeback. The next stage could be a toss towards the Mima theories, too. I think UFO is a good time to implement the phrase "Hurts so good"--it's a great game and all, but all the PC-98 fans and supporters are being taunted simultaneously.

Haven't tried yet, but from people who've played so far I know stage 3 is still hard, 4 is pretty balanced (by which I mean hard), 5 is YOU THOUGHT ORIN WAS HARD?! and 6 is hard as hell. Might be one of the hardest lunatics.
