First NERF RIVAL Blaster of 2023: The Forerunner XXIII

It's the start of a new year, and that means new NERF Blasters from Hasbro. What better way to kick things off than with a pump-action 12-round NERF Rival Blaster with the NERF Rival XXIII Forerunner? More like the Halo and less like the Toyata, the Forerunner is another entry in the, "Precision Accuracy" or, "Accustrike" version of NERF Rival that debuted last year with the Fate, Vision, and Pathfinder. Does it improve upon the initial launch and keep that increased accuracy? Or is it the warning of things to come from the NERF Rival line in 2023? And is it actually better without a stock?

This blaster was picked up from my local Target for $27.99, and isn't available online anywhere.

Hey everybody, I'm sure you have a lot of questions. Things kind of fell apart on me the last couple of weeks and I've struggled to get back on my feet and in front of the camera. I'm going to do a few videos to get back into the groove of things, and then finish up the rest of what I started back in December. Hope you all had a better start to 2023 than I did, but who knows? Maybe things will surprise me and get better here as we move into the month. As a side note for some feedback, I think having the "tool tip" to tell newer Nerfers what slam-fire is without having to stop and explain it verbally with text on the screen is actually brilliant, I normally tune out when I hear reviewers talk about slam-fire and how it functions as I have known about since the release of raider almost 15 years ago lmao. You should try to incorporate this with other lingo that newer Nerfers may not know about, though I can't think of other examples at the moment.

Pretty cool. I mean I'd say its a 8/10. The 2 points are purely stock and the cost. Hasbro is finally having hope for good blasters.

I really like the aesthetic, and color scheme of the “Accu-Rival” line. I definitely agree it should’ve at least had a stock attachment point. I wish the Pathfinder’s stock had been adjustable, and/or removable.

I have to agree with you on it, it doesn't do anything new nor that it have slam fire, but this Forerunner feels so good in hands. It's a good sign that Rival isn't dead and that Nerf can bring us Good New blasters in that Line. I think they did Great on what they know best... reshell.

This would benefit a SPAS-12 type of foldable stock or even the Hypnos stock into this blaster. Yeah, maybe it's the same as other blasters, but it's not bad to always have a backup of a backup blaster.

Hey Walcom, I'd like to see a series where you (and maybe Lucha) take bad blasters, and make them good with minimal modification. Maybe you could call it Dartstart (like heartstart).

12 rounds on a classic shotgun-esque rival blaster in the vein of the Saturn is pretty nice. It's a good bit smaller too it seems, which might be appealing to some, although it won't have the same feel as the Saturn if that's what you're looking for.
