As a broke college student, canned beans are amazing. I literally was eating some straight out of the can the other night (I had no other food at the time) when the fire alarm went off and I was standing outside with a half eaten can of beans. Never let anyone tell you that the least of these things can’t be the best in trying times.

Canned beans are the bomb I have literally a dozen or so cans of refried and black beans. Great thing to keep around for meals or emergencies

This recipe is fire. I have never made beans from scratch before but this was easy and so tasty. I will note I do not have a Instapot so I cooked everything on the stovetop but the link he provided in his post got me through the process with ease. Easily a 10/10 bean recipe

growing up in a mexican household we always had some frijoles refritos on hand in case we needed beans for a dinner but didn’t have any cooked so i think it’s completely valid to use canned beans
