The reason behind instrumental scene doing so well is the repetitive concepts on words choices, lyrics as a whole is kinda going stale. You already know by the title what are you going to listen to from the lyricist, or by listening just the first line of the song. And also the pop scene where the chord progression is the same since 20+ years 90%, hip-hop same thing, even metal scene. It's been 6/7 years now i have been listening to instrumental, mainly progressive like AAL, Haunted Shores, Intervals, I built the sky, Keyan Houshman, Mestis, Plini, Chon, etc. You hear notes/chords that you never hear and a breath of fresh air imo.
