The Nebra Sky Disk is a sight to behold. At just 12 inches in diameter, its bronze surface gleams with inlaid gold—circles and arcs that shimmer like the stars they may represent. But beneath its captivating design lies one of archaeology's most enduring mysteries: is it the world's oldest map of the cosmos or a more recent relic of myth and symbolism?

Discovered in 1999 by illegal treasure hunters on Germany's Mittelberg Hill, the disk emerged from the soil alongside bronze swords, axes, and spiral armbands. The finders quickly sold their hoard on the black market, unknowingly setting the stage for a series of forensic investigations and heated academic disputes.

By 2002, police had recovered the disk in a dramatic sting operation, leading to the looters' conviction and a closer examination of the site. Soil analysis and radiocarbon dating linked the disk to around 1600 BCE, aligning it with the Unetice culture of the Early Bronze Age. This led many researchers to hail it as the oldest known depiction of the heavens...

You know, by watching this you’d just assume that every single ancient artifact was used to predict the sun and moon movement😂

It's possible the Dogon Star Knowledge is referring to followers of Dagon who went by the Nomo people at the time. They fit the "sea creature" description, and the Dogon people maybe took their name from Dagon.
It might also explain occult fascination with the Sirius Galaxy.

I swear, the intro tune still gives me the hardest nostalgia, next to MatPat screaming ''GAME THEORY!''

The Cochno Stone needs to be unearthed and have a protective building built around it. That way it can be studied and hopefully deciphered. The ability to put hands on an object like that helps lead to a deep understanding. No, I don't think it should be open to the public, but should be able to be accessed year round by the experts and students alike.

Every single time they find an artifact that they can't actually understand they claim it's an astronomical device. Every damn time

The Dogon people say that beings came down from the heavens in a basket shaped object. At 3:35 there's a basket etched on the wall of a cave. Know that I think about it, just about all cultures say that their knowledge was handed down to them from sky beings. Not only that ancient cultures from around the globe have humanoid drawings of beings holding a basket. Could the basket that all cultures have mean the basket of "Knowledge?"

We all need to go out and make crazy symbols and stuff to confuse the people 1000 years from now.

The Cochno stone is my vote. There's some kind of data in that.

The disk seems to be a front piece of a shield with the wood part having disintegrated.

When you say things like "the gold was pressed impossibly thin" ...obviously it wasn't because the object exists.
