Great exercises that counter the macho urge to over-muscle any exercise. It's been the main obstacle to violin improvement. Thanks. I especially appreciate your, pleasant yet concise presentations. You're a good teacher It's always time to review and improve technique basics. I'm using CORRIE10, also.

Watching David Piche youtuber playing "Sailor Moon - Original Main Theme", I always wandered if one can name the way he plays with his bow. He often detaches his bow while sounding at the same very legato in his cover, almost as if he is very selective while I'm not sure if detaching bow is really necessary when playing legato. Not sure if it can be called 'spicatto" as the notes are not as short sounding. Curious if there are more names to the bowing techniques.

Hi Corrie! 8 6 24 c.e. from usa. Your lesson was great! Ive never seen the blue tadpole bow simulator before! I wish they had things like that in my area but they dont. Is there anything wrong with the Menuhin bow grip? Or Bayla Keyes captains chair bow hold? I can remember showing the thumbnail under the stick but feel it would interfear with pronation or supination. I learned the other day that Joseph Auld taught Heifetz the So called Russian bow grip but in Russia it is seldom used! They use the Franco Belgian grip. What do you think of the cam action of the bow fingers by that Italian guy who teaches? He only speaks Italian. There must be at least a dozen bow grips or more. Love your lesson please keep it posted as will refer back to time and again. Get your little one on the 1/16th violin right away! The earlier you start the better! I wish my grandfather had put me on the full size sooner but I was probably too small to reach the scroll at 4 or 5 years old. Thanks for a winderful lesson. I think I will adopt the Menuhin bow hold. I also like the Bayla Keyes captains chair dont strangle the hampster method. Thank you for showing the four crucial string crossings and yes I probably do use too much shoulder because my Bursitus bothers me when I play. I had a really good vibrato lesson yesterday evening. Im using a 334mm working vibrating string lenth and it helps with vibrato tambor. Im also using Pops bass rosin as it has great grip! In the summer its a bit sticky and likes to glob up on the bow hairs but i use ecalptus to clean the bow hairs occasionally. I have been using supersensitive with thumb nail under mid section of bow to facilitate spread of rosin. Im stoked, enthuesed and looking forward to yours and others violin instruction. Bye for now Corrie. P.s. i only practice 5 to 15 minuest a day for the most part. And Im not giving up! My current pedagogue is Peter Ostrache because he gets the.most moan from his instrument and I like the side ways approach to his playing. Later!😅
