Hi how should the rosin texture feel like? The one is ordered is very dry, is it supposed to be like that? Im a beginner

Hi Zlata, I find with my baroque bow that too much rosin makes the sound scratchy , I often don't rosin my now until it needs it. People often over rosin bows as a course of habit. Adam Beanstock.

I just purchased rosin but it seems awfully dry. I haven't gotten my violin yet so I'm wondering if I should buy some different rosin and return this.
I did scratch the end of it but it just seems dry and powdery.
