Great tutorial, short and sweet.
I would like to add that sometimes viola players will extend their first finger over the stick a little more so they can press into the strings more (which are obviously a thicker gauge and/or higher tension).

I taught my students the exact same way, 3 months later they still hold it like a tennis racket. FML

It doesn’t work for me at all I don’t know why even though it’s been 5 years. I feel better with Russian bow hold but it also limits my control
