In the article, Chalamet even mentions Paul being "on an anti-hero’s-journey of sorts." More reason to believe everyone involved understands Dune. I am so stoked.

'On Caladan, we ruled with sea and air power, the Duke said. Here, we must scrabble for desert power. This is your inheritance, Paul.'

I love how he looks. It's so grounded and realistic. I love how Villeneuve takes such wild and enormous concepts and brings them down to where it feels real (tangible) yet no less grand (fantastical).

I think this is Paul's last walk on the beaches of Caladan. In the background, freighters bring the household of planet. Preparing the transit to Arrakis.

This maybe his last walk along the beach before traveling to Dune. I lived and grew up in Pismo Beach CA before moving to Utah. I took one last walk along the beach before I moved.

I like this first image. It makes me think that Paul is taking one last stroll along the coast line before he leaves Caladan forever.

First picture we get: literally just Timothée standing there with stuff floating around.
All of us: HOLY SHIT ITS HAPPENING

The original Dune film started off on Caladan, and that's what they'll do here. It's necessary to contrast where Paul came from as a child, to where he became a man.

The Vanity Fair article referred to the ships as transports helping the Atreides move to Arrakis.

I've never been this excited from a single image. The colour grading is really nice, it looks quite mature. Interested to see what Arrakis will look like on screen.

Blade runner 2049 was a masterpiece (best movie of the last decade imo), I have extreme faith in Villeneuve.

He’s just wearing Caladanian rain gear. Like a drovers coat. Black & green are the family colors of the Atreides.

Paul enjoys subliminal Bene Gesserit training, Mentat conditioning, hand-to-hand combat instruction, and long walks on the beach.

For me is obviously Caladan! The depressive look is him about to leave the planet! That’s why has this gloomy look

I wonder how much backstory we’ll get in the movie a lotr type opening would be very fitting and help the audience understand what’s happening

Imo the most interesting part of that article is Timothee's words on Paul led me to believe that he gets the Dune right. Gives me such hope for the movie.

“The immediately appealing thing about Paul was the fact that in a story of such detail and scale and world-building, the protagonist is on an anti-hero’s-journey of sorts, ” Chalamet said.
In other words, he’s not dreaming of adventure. He’s resisting it. Afraid of it.
“He thinks he’s going to be sort of a young general studying his father and his leadership of a fighting force before he comes of age, hopefully a decade later, or something like that.” Chalamet said.

It’s definitely Caladan, that’s Norway (likely where I went to school) and that’s where they filmed Caladan.

I don’t often go to “The Movies” but I definitely WILL be going to see Dune 2020 (maybe 2021) on a big screen - hopefully an iMAX! Thanks Quinn, keep up the excellent work 👍❤️

I was wondering why they filmed in Norway, I guess this answers that...
