Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is more than the celebration of a natural wonder. It's a study of human achievement and folly on an epic scale, a tale of affable lunacy, high drama, danger and desire. The Falls were the nation’s first great symbol, an emblem for the vast untamed continent with its beauty and its limitless resources. What happened to that beauty, and those resources, is the story-line of the film.

This WNED PBS production premiered in September 2006.

Funding provided by Niagara Parks Commission in Canada, Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation, Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation and PBS.

I find Niagara Falls so fascinating!! Not only is it a tourist spot for TWO countries, but there is so much to do there! Like the Cave Of The Winds!! And of course, the super fashionable rain coats 😆

Great video. I have been fascinated by the falls and their history for decades since I first visited there in the 50's. I honeymooned there in 1980
. Thank you for making this video.

I’ve always been bewildered by the fact that it was never a world wonder

What a massive distinction between the natives that lived there and the colonists. The natives had a great respect and appreciation of the land. The first thing the colonists decide to do is “hey let’s bring money and people here by putting animals in boats and send them over the falls.” What absolute insanity lol.

Spent much time all over there but you still highlighted some new points. Could sure do without the music guy explaining his thing.

Nothing about the progression of the Niagara up the Niagara river geologically. Very disappointing.
