Actually, Anakins father was Darth Plagueis. As you maybe remember from episode III, Senator Palpatine told Anakin about Darth Plagueis that he could create life. When his apprentice (Darth Sidious) was ready to finish his training, he killed his master in sleep (Because of "Rule of two"). But Darth Sidious had already broken the rule when he got his apprentice "Darth maul" before he had finished his training. This made Darth Plagueis very angry, and because he was very strong with the force he created the "chosen one" (Anakin skywalker) and placed him in a woman (Shimi skywalker). That was why she carried a baby when she didn't have a man. And that makes Darth Plagueis to Anakins father.

For those people saying the numbers are Wrong about the limbs, you're wrong. He only lost 5. His right arm to count dooku in episode 2, 3 limbs from obi wan (leaving his already robotic hand) in episode 3, and he lost his robotic hand again in episode 6 from Luke.

Darth Vader only lost 4 1/2. When Obi-Wan cut off his legs, and his arm, He actually still had more than half of his right arm in tact. Obi wan only cut off below the elbow. Everything above that, was still there. Even when Luke cut off his cybernetic ->HAND<- he still had the rest of his arm left...

I was only nine years old. I love Star Wars so much had all the merchandise and movies. I pray to lord Vader every night thanking him for the life I've been given. Darth Vader is love, I say, Darth Vader is life. My dad hears me and calls me an Imperial lapdog. I knew he was just jealous of my devotion for Vader. I called him a Nerf herder. If the darth Vader breath is trade marked then how come it was used in the beginning of toy story 2?

I always thought Darth's helmet was modeled after the German helmets of WWII, it's pretty close and would make sense, however I've read more than once that it was actually inspired more by the Japanese Samurai helmets/masks.
