Gov. Ron DeSantis denounced the Biden administration for refusing "to lift a finger" in securing the U.S. border with Mexico in defending his decision to fly planes carrying migrants on Wednesday to Martha's Vineyard.

Declaring that Florida is not a sanctuary state, DeSantis said during a news conference Thursday morning that leaders have worked on "innovative ways" to shield the state from President Joe Biden's failed border policies.

One was using a portion of the state's latest budget that included $12 million to establish a program within the Department of Transportation to "facilitate the transport" of undocumented persons out of Florida.

"If you have folks that are inclined to think Florida is a good place, our message to them is we are not a sanctuary state, and it's better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction and, yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures," said DeSantis, responding to a reporter's question.

If someone puts out a sign saying illegal migrants welcome with open arms they should keep their word and try not to look like a liar.

This diversity and inclusion will truly enrich the residents of Martha's Vineyard. How lucky the residents of Martha's Vineyard must be. I truly envy them. Diversity will be Martha's Vineyard's greatest strength.

Need 10 flights a day, not token flights. Five from Florida and five from Texas.

He said months ago they weren't welcome in Florida. He said months ago we'll just send them to democratic sanctuary states and cities like Martha's Vineyard. And that's what he did. That's what we need more of.

No. It’s fair. You want migration so we send them to your states. What’s hard to understand about that.

The counsel members would feel more comfort in California.

I am sure Martha's Vineyard will welcome multitudes with open arms. Many more should be allowed to enter Martha's Vinyard so they can demonstrate how compassionate they are.

Meanwhile, nobody wanting to admit how Central American "migrants" got to Florida in the first place. It wasn't magic and they most certainly didn't walk here. We've seen the black buses dropping people off on I-75 in between exits and driving off. They get shipped here by the same people who are crying about them getting shipped out of here.

It will be good if they send those immigrants to Delaware, Biden’s house is open waiting for them ❗️😆

This back and forth between the Fed and the State is truly what makes America Great. You can thank our Founding Fathers for their long foresight, fear of Tyranny and love of dissent.

These sanctuary cities should be thanking Abbott and DeSantis for footing the bill and offering safe travel. What great men these are

I guess you could say it’s a political move…DeSantis is keeping Florida free from liberal policies that most usually destroy people and communities, and Florida is about living the best life.
