This summer, I saw this song on spotify, and was I so glad to find it. I listened to it while doing homework with my cousin beside me, the window was on, and the wind was so refreshing. I played the songs for so many hours, and my cousin had fallen asleep listening to it because she later asked what it was playing because it made her relaxed and dozed off. I literally won't forget that moment with such silence and peace thing that has ever happened in my life for the first time in such a long time because of all the things happening in my life at that time. Joji, thank you so much.

I've been watching this MV occasionally since this was released but I just realized that the line "I'll give you something so real" made much more sense realizing that joji's archnemesis (the villain) had left him a "fake" eye, while his friend-turned-villain-for-him left him his "real" eye symbolizing how much he could give and his dedication just to make joji happy even if it hurts him too. I know it's the whole point of the MV and its main implication but I loved the visual details.

I love this video because it shows that sometimes, once you've gotten what you've wanted, there's not always elation. Sometimes there's emptiness and a yearning for that thing back in your life. Tldr victory doesn't always ensure happiness.
