I don't think Kawahara predicted the future, i think he wrote it. its obviously not going exactly as he planned but since his story was so interesting companies saw how high the demand for this game was and are working to make it happen in the real world.

My wife and I have determined that once we get old and our time is approaching, if full dive is around, we want to spend our final days/weeks/months inside full dive VR until we go to meet our maker. So we can see each other be genuinely happy instead in whatever pain, sickness or fear we may be in.

If there is one company I believe in to make an SAO game, it would have to be Mihoyo. Such an outstanding company when it comes to their game environments and graphics (not very realistic but still looks absolutely amazing).

The biggest concern for me and what I would want to hear more about is how a nervegear like device would handle input from your body while in game because THAT is whats most important, being able to stay aware of your heartrate, how hungry you are, if you need to pee or poop, is your body being touched or even attacked. You don't what your room to be on fire and not even know ur burning alive because your mind is connected to the game and "signals from your body are being blocked by the headset" like I think u stated is the case in SAO lol

I'm fine waiting 20 yrs for sao as long as they make it top notch instead of 5 years having it look and feel like it was rushed. I hope they will keep remastering the game over and over

I think for a AAA Company that has enough resources like for example Konami, EA etc… it could be easy to replicate a game like Sao with the same mechanics and things that show in the series, I Know there is no technology like in the show as of today or if there will ever be, but recreating a full aincrad castle with 100 floors and daungeons like in the show could be posible if a big company wanted to, playing games like Zenith made me realize that.

Looks like everyone can experience EX-Chronicle now. From the little bit that I've seen, it's a neat little museum and boss fight. Good on Sony for getting permission to expand it outside of Japan.

Also, besides EX-Chronicle Online Edition, Project Aincrad on VRChat gives me a second reason to actually get a VR headset.

The Cardinal System was what generated and ran the SAO servers, it was a system that didnt need human interaction and was fully functional of preforming on its own and maintaining itself without any help, the seed was a program that is well, essentially what roblox is but for vr mmos

i think a lot of games(VR or not) are needing to be developed in 4K quality(think Cyberpunk 2077 without glitching), and the new headsets are also gonna need that same level of quality for deeper immersion gameplay. i still say we are at the early stages of the "Ready Player One" phase before Full Dive can happen, there's still a lot of research and study that's needed. if you could take a game(current SAO games, or other), and add a VR function to them in the meantime, that would be awesome right? i may be wrong in my thinking in how the NerveGear works: it puts the body in a semi-REM state; your mind is active, your body partially "asleep", giving you the ability to actively play without body movement. that's the mystery part of the tech, how to develop something that's external and can do what the NerveGear can do in the anime. when Full Dive does become reality, i'm all for it!
