As Gary has said previously, this is not about taxing those with 1 million pounds worth of wealth, this is about taxing people with 100+ million pounds of wealth. There is an ENORMOUS difference.

We need everyone to call it what it is: propaganda. People know propaganda is bad, but they don’t realize that it’s not just something that happens to other people.

Money = power = influence = more money.

These guys have got it dialed.

You know, Gary really changes your perspective on who, exactly, might be considered a burden on society.

So many cheerleaders for the rich, when its obvious those policies dont benefit them or their own family.

This is very important, many like me will see someone from the Institute of Economics and think they're a legitimate organisation. Thanks Gary, look them up they are just a billionaires lobbying organisation.

The best thing you can do Gary is change your language, for this exact reason. 'Tax the rich' sounds like tax normal home owners to people who can't afford to own. 'Tax the millionaires' is a better message, 'tax the superrich' is a better message, 'tax away their yachts' is a better message etc.
Until the general population can make that distinction we will always have people supporting this low tax rhetoric because they believe they could become 'rich'.

Worst thing is it works you see people in Gary’s comments that aren’t being paid trying to protect the rich, the same rich that would happily crush them and their entire families just for laughs.

So refreshing hearing you talk about these issues Gary, it’s how I’ve felt for years and hearing the politicians and media pundits spouting garbage has made me feel insane.

Stevenson nails it all the way. It's not complicated. The rich thrive on normal people empathising with the rich. They pay mercenary people well to tell the rest of US that the rich are essential to the economy, for our jobs, for stability and social harmony. They create jobs (they don't) and without them the country will fall apart. The truth is that the country falls apart when the rich aren't paying taxes into the economy. Without them paying taxes stuff doesn't get funded. They then say if the rich are taxed they'll leave the country (they won't).

The rich invest a great deal of effort in becoming largely invisible.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I’ve just heard that taxing the super rich will be in the manifesto of The Green Party for the GE.

Loved your book. Which got me into your YouTube videos.
You breakdowns of the corrupt tax system, and ever growing disparity in peoples wealth are honest, easy to understand and worrying.

Keep it up.

I have been thinking for a long time about the best way to inform them public about think tanks. I thought of creating a thinkTankWatch, an organisation who's job it is to give information about think tanks, their biases, sources of funding and record. So that when an journalist repeats what an official sounding think-tank is saying because they sound like an authority and the journalist doesn't have time to investigate, they can easily add more content to their story by checking information about the reliability and bias from another official sounding source.

Of course it's difficult to do anything about the fact that the same billionaires that fund the think tanks also own the media that reports what the think tanks are saying.
