As someone with anorexia, the “see how the brain plays around, and you fall inside a hole you couldn’t see” struck me RIGHT in the heart.

It makes me want to cry or vomit knowing that some people I’m friends with have experienced SA. Every time I see an animation like this, I think of them. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. Ever. I wouldn’t wish that upon my worst enemies.

ppl r saying its abt SA but im not necessarily seeing it. not all sexual or related traumas are SA, i feel like this could just as easily be abt a sex worker who feels trapped in the act of pleasuring others, despite deriving her self-worth from it, represented by the chain imagery, and that part where her eyes are painted over with tears, then hearts, before she just stares ahead, more tired than anything else. the part where it goes “see how the brain plays around, and you fall inside a hole you couldn’t see, and you fall inside a hole inside a- someone help me”, with the added eyeball/screen imagery and the bunnygirl look, really adds to this idea of innocence-turned-sour; she couldn’t see how things would turn out, how could she? now shes stuck, stuck inside a job she used to find affirming that’s now anything but, begging for help, for an escape. the mild bliss of feeling someone else with her, of being desired and wanted, even if it was shallow, has wilted, and shes left wondering how any of it happened in the first place, her mind wracked by constraining standards and hollow shows of affection, with no way out of the hole shes found herself in. (EDIT: theres also the line "See how the serfs work the ground" immediately before the scene i mentioned earlier, in which shes depicted shackled by the pov, kneeling before it. Combined with the line "And they give it all they've got [x2]" which i didnt mention, that feels more like an allusion to sex workers and the abuse they face than anything else i mentioned lmfao. also, I dont want to imply that theres NO depiction of sexual assault or abuse, its just not my main takeaway; its not an abstract case of sexual assault, but the conditions experienced by a sex worker and how its affected her mentally, which can and here almost definitely does include abuse)

i feel like the imagery is vague enough that u could insert several different narratives in here; u could even justify reading the character as trans what w the whole “I was just a boy you see” before cutting to a very androgynous version of the character, the juxtaposed faces faces at one point, w them becoming progressively more feminine w longer hair, ending on her face as it is now (could be some lore idk). and “someone help me understand what’s going on inside my mind. Doctor, I can’t tell if I’m not me”, which just… i used to disassociate and still do to escape from my body, the experience of being trans is one where you’re constantly fighting yourself in some small way, especially pre-transition. the tightness of that scene just makes it feel surreal, like, ive been in that position before. its also not uncommon for trans ppl to experience sexual violence and assault and/or become sexworkers due to medical debt; its not a “she’s trans OR it’s about sexual trauma” thing that would be dumb obv, u can have both and the non-trans elements make more sense in isolation; thats the cool thing abt art, tho, u can take certain parts and analyse them to reach a more complete or holistic understanding of a text as a whole. multiple themes can coexist within a text and can play around with and bounce off of each other. rly u can take it or leave it, im not saying u have to read it that way, just sharing my pov.

the use of pink as well gives me a… vibe, idk, u see it alot in abuse imagery, but also in general “I need to shred my body” art, some of which is trans-coded but not all. its the only colour shown for the most part and its used for everything from blood to the characters own body, its the colour of the chain, her privates, the screen pulses pink, her mind swims with pink when she’s struggling, the text is pink for the most part, the rabbit ears and tail are a shade of pink, as well as her eyes for that scene. the part i find most interesting is when she like… glows or pulses pink when the lyrics go “[…] inside my mind”, which just feels like this really vivid and specific imagery. pink is a “girl colour” and usually in art like this its used to juxtapose the innocence and joy of early life with the hardships of adulthood, or the serenity of youth juxtaposed with their life after some incident; the girlhood literally bleeding from you, smashed and splattered against the ground, smeared across your body, destroyed, taken from you by force. so to have the character, in what seems to be a brief respite, allowing it to escape her, to… grow or energise, to express itself, whatever it may be, with serenity on her face, asking for help, it feels like shes healing. shes letting herself heal, shes helping the little girl inside her understand what’s going on inside her mind, shes building herself up and getting help and figuring out whats gone wrong and what she can do for herself. its rly beautiful, it legitimately makes me tear up thinking abt it, mustering the courage to embrace yourself, to have that inner dialogue. its not easy, and i cant imagine it being any easier for someone in her position, whatever she has going on; its inspiring, almost.

anyway this is really cool and good art, i love how vague it is- its the kinda thing where u can look at it and relate to it or read into it w/o any real context or rly knowing what it is. also i wanna eat ur artstyle, i feel like u only ever see this thing on youtube and it’s always amazing, luv it

I see this as a genuine representative of what it's like to be hypersexual (or what seems like it) - Having intrusive thoughts and viewing yourself as an object because it feels good, then emeditly regretting and hating yourself for what you've done . It's like you're holding yourself hostage and stuff . Just my take on it :)
