3 Reasons China Will Never Rule The World

Many people assume that once China's economy is larger than the US economy, Chinese dominance is soon to follow. This video presents three reasons why this will not be the case, including Chinese racial ideas, their neighbors, and most importantly the 3rd mover disadvantage China has in trying to set up world empire after the British and the US.

I'm not sure how relevant the 'kinda racist' and 'third mover disadvantage' aspects are, but the 'natural enemies' aspect has aged remarkably well. wolf warrior diplomacy has done its part to turn most of China's neighbours (minus russia) against it. i think it may be a while until China learns that 'making sure the (soon to be) most populous country in the world doesn't hate you' is more important for global power than scraps of land in the himalayas and having diplomats post alpha male takes on twitter

I think you got it wrong. China sends and uses its own population to build constructions in africa is possibly the fastest way to help them develop their country.

Spain was actually the first mover in the massive global colonisation. Then Portugal and then it was either France, U.K. or the netherlands.

Let me give 2 more reasons:

1. The lack of women in China. Because of the single-child per family policy implemented by Mao, Chinese families preferred to have a boy instead of a girl, and a lot of Chinese girls were given into adoption to western people. This lack of women will make in the future that Chinese population will stop growing and probably will decrease during a few decades.

2. The existence of a Communist government controlled by a Communist (marxist-leninist-maoist) political party, the CCP. It's a de facto dictatorship and young people from China are becoming more and more rebellious against their government. It's a ruthless regime, cause if you oublicly criticize a political figure of the CCP, the Chinese police can come to your house and execute you without trial.

Thanks for another thought provoking video.
A few thoughts:
1. Chinese are indeed extremely racist. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been there.
They get along with and tolerate others, but the goodies always seem to move in one direction.

At the same time, they are not into lynching and other such western activities. As an example, they allowed a number of Jews to move to Shanghai from Europe and set up their own community during the Nazi era. They are perfectly welcome to co exist there so long as they do not challenge the system. The difference is likely do to number 2. below.

2. The chinese don't dominate in the way Europeans or Americans dominate. In fact they set up systems that benefit themselves without the need to control or suppress others. One of the more interesting verses of the Tao te Ching:

The supreme rulers are hardly known by their subjects.
The lesser are loved and praised.
The even lesser are feared.
The least are despised.

Those who show no trust will not be trusted.
Those who are quiet value the words.
When their task is completed, people will say:
We did it ourselves.

That approach is 180 degrees opposite to western thinking: God told Joshua to take over lands and to kill every man, woman, child and beast that existed there. Romans sold their enemies into slavery and poured salt on the ground.

China does favors and makes friends. (My contacts with Africans tell me they appreciated the public works China had done for them, for example). Their philosophy is to set up a system that works, not to waste their energies in suppression.

China plays the long game and sticks to it. The west creates instability and tries to increase short term profits off the disasters it creates. The latter method is doomed to failure.

Because of the above, I feel that perhaps the premise of the video is incorrect. China will rise to world dominance, but not in the way the west did. In fact if they succeed everyone else in the world will say "we did it ourselves" and be proud of it.
