My best guess is that bees are willing participants in the exchange of labor and are fairly compensated for their role in production, but chocolate is mainly produced by slave labor, specifically child slave labor, and thus it shows an extreme level of cognitive dissonance to say you're not fine eating honey which exploits no one not even the animals, but you're willing to put your money in the pockets of slave owners

What is confusing you? Honey is an animal product. Chocolate can be made without milk. It couldn't possibly be any simpler.
