I think your final opinion was spot on. Tough price tag to justify for a limited feature if you upgrade to the Pro. As a guy with a few Live units, I’m still on the fence about upgrading to the new gen at all.

Great vid! So if I buy a new HDS Pro 12 why do I need the S3100? I am going to use the HDS Pro with the AIHD and a TM265HL transducer. Is the only advantage the FishReveal on Sidescan? If I want to connect the trolling motor to the HDS that also should be possible directly on the Pro right?

Unless you can change the contrast, brightness, scroll speed, tvg etc, garmin, humminbird and raymarine will always be king

I’ve had HDS16 live+SS75H+TM150+3D structurescan installed on by bout. Decided to get a better image and installed S3100 with ActiveImaging 3-in-1 HD Med/High transducer (replaced 3D structurescan). The result is:
Image quality with AI HD worse. After connecting SS75H or TM150 a lot of noise.
Who can recommend solution? Should I go back to SS75H+TM150+3D structurescan package?

I'm looking at this unit as i have a HDS Live unit (has 2x 9 pin sockets) and want to use both the 3 in 1 transducer (1x 9 pin plug) and the Airmar TM275LHW (2x 9 pin plugs). Is there a better way to be able to use both transducers?

I have an Elite FS 9 and want to hook up the 3 in 1 tranducer that came with the unit as well as a thru hull 2D tranducer to the unit. Will the S3100 help me accomplish this task?

I just bought a HDS Live 16" w/o ducer for my bow...trying to decide what to put at the console. Was thinking two 9"s. Should I get one Pro and one Live? if I did that, would I need the S3100? Or could I just daisy chain off the Pro (w/ 3-1 ActiveHD ducer) to the other Lives? That would save me money.

If you have a Pro with AIHD transducer and daisy chain with live units will the live units see the same AIHD images the pro does once the updates are completed? In other words, a pro unit in the chain would eliminate the need for the S3100 if no fish reveal was needed? Thank you!

my goal is to use the 3in1 which already have on my hds 9 and add another airmar, that should work right and i only need the s3100 unit or any extras? I plan two have a tm265LM, both frequencies will show on the hds, correct?
Another dumb question, can i keep the 3in1 on my hds unit port and then add two 1kw transducers on the s3100?

Hi, do you know up to how many meters deep the new active imaging HD works with the module s3100 in side scan?? Because the old active imaging 3 in 1 works until to 50-60 meters deep in side scan.

I don't think many people will buy that module, fish reveal isn't worth $. I agree makes side scan look cluttered & I don't think I trust software to say that's a fish in that spot. Better to learn what fish look like on side scan normally plus its mostly for locating structure. The new hd3n1 imaging looks awesome. From what I've seen it's looking better than mega+ & Garmin's gt56! I'm not a brand loyal guy. I like them all. If I didn't just buy an 10" echomap ultra 106sv for 899 on sale from bass pro I would be considering the 10" hds pro. But 2800 vs 900. I don't think the hds pro looks $1900 better than the gt56. I can add lvs34 & 32ah 14v lithium battery for that price difference. Doesn't matter wait another year then be something newer & they all be outdated
