I spent a semester in Paris during college (not perfume-related) and can so relate to your feelings just before going and when you first arrived, but it was a such a wonderful experience! Oh, Emma, I just wanted to give you a hug when you were newly arrived in Paris and feeling homesick. As someone who also moved to another country to study, I know that feeling of culture shock and displacement all too well. So glad that 3 months onward you're in your element and loving it. I remember moving to spain by myself so I understand EXACTLY how you feel. You’re probably much better off now but indulge in whatever you’re feeling, don’t rush close relationships because you’re lonely, be open but take your time. It will all come to you. You’re already enjoying your neighbourhood so keep that up. It helps A LOT. So proud of you Emma! You’re inspiring to take the plunge on a lots I’ve thought of doing myself.

I really appreciate you being open about the struggle of losing the comfort of familiar people.
