Who said the F-35 can't maneuver?  It has nearly the same body as the F-22 Raptor, a proven design.  It looks pretty aerodynamic here to me.

You know the F-35 costs around 100 million apiece to make. Well the Eurofighter and the Dassualt Rafael both cost more than 100 million to make for a plane that doesn’t have stealth or the sensor fusion that the F-35 has. I’m really sick of hearing about how expensive our fantastic jet is. It’s the most advanced fighter jet in the world and as it keeps rolling off the assembly line the price will continue to go down.
