'True' d20's aren't randomized (numbers on the faces). They're configured such that opposite sides add up to 21 (much like a d6 adds up to 7).

You need to do a goodness of fit test to see if there’s a significant difference. In any case, there’s no difference between rolling spindowns and traditional d20s

Also, while I agree that both provide an equal degree of randomness under ideal circumstances, you showed no check for balance/weighting of the dice you used - without which the experiment is likely invalid (as both dice would need to be perfectly weighted, or both would need to be imbalanced equally (likely not possible due to different layouts of the numbers) to ensure that the testing you do is not biased.

D20s are only random because this is an in vitro study in a laboratory setting. If this dice rolls where part of a real gamesession they would hade bean loaded with powers of evil malice and the results would not look so random. 😈

Its 5% change of any number on either dice. But why its disliked is that you can divide the spindown into high and low evenly. With a standard D20, What could be a 20 can easily become a 2 or an 8. But on a spindown what could be a 20 can just be a 19 or a 16. Plus an unbalanced standard D20 can still roll very high or very low, whereas on a spindown, its more likely to roll in the same ballpark every time.
