Range Rover V8 vs Bentley Bentayga V8S

Battle of the ultimate luxury SUVs!

If you're after the ultimate luxury SUV, there's a good chance that these two cars - the Bentley Bentayga and the all-new Range Rover - are at the very top of your shopping list. And why wouldn't they be? Both provide the performance of a sports car, the refinement, quality and space of a chauffeur car, and the practicality of a family SUV. Yes, these really are cars that can do everything.

The newer car of the pair is the Range Rover P530. It sits on an all-new platform, and this high-spec version comes fitted with a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 banging out 523bhp, making it capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in just 4.6 seconds, despite being the size of a small planet.

It faces the Bentley Bentayga V8S, a racier version of the regular V8 version. It has the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the regular Bentayga V8, which is down on size compared to the Range Rover's engine, but it's actually more powerful, punting out a mammoth 542bhp for a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.5 seconds. However, the big difference between the V8S and the regular Bentayga V8 is that it comes with a revised air suspension for sharper handling.

Easily Bentayga for me!
Both with a lot to like but RR is way to big, I personally find the split tail-gate stupid and there is still a issue with the reliability. Great interior though, really like it.

24' RR Autobiography for me! An amazing ride on 23s, looks great, and is a true SUV. The ride position, the room and space makes it stand out from the crossover SUV look and size. The rear executive seats with hot stone massage and conforming headrests are amazing. Its also a bargain compared to the Bentley and the Rolls Royce.

Excellent review of two impressive vehicles. I really enjoyed your intelligent, well presented examination of these cars. You have a great voice and diction, you know your stuff, but you do it quietly and confidently. No gimmicks. Both cars are completely ludicrous in size, weight and price. Especially with the ISA rules coming in 500+ bhp is a very slightly OTT. If you are choosing, the RR has far more presence. Parking bays???? That would be a good test...

Ill never be able to afford either of them, but the Range Rover is an all time dream car for me! So therefore I would really want one!
