I’m a relatively new ubiquiti user, having got a DMPro and U6E in January, for my home, am looking to get into the world of Protect in the coming months and these features are tempting me into getting an AI camera. Before this announcement I was looking at the G5 Pro with the vision enhancer to use as a floodlight + camera but perhaps an AI camera with the standalone lights would be better… wonder what cameras they have in the pipeline….

Think it is quite useful, we have people who fail to clock in or out which means managers have to check the video feeds to get a clocking time, so much simpler if they have a Ai camera in the clocking area (which we have in case someone clocks someone else in/out in error). But current system is basically dead and currently the boss is running on Ring 😂 which is mad

Regarding notifications, I wonder if they will allow you to whitelist certain faces and alert me of other folks. For example, don't alert me if my family member has come through the front door, but alert me if someone "unknown" has been walking around my yard.

Great video. Please help - Can you be notified for all unknown and persons of interest and not for "safe/known" people?

Also, can you setup notifications based on time (notify me if people are in my yard between 6pm and 7am but not other hours) or

can you setup an away mode (go on holidays so be notified of all cars/people in your yard but revert back to normal settings when you return without changing every individual camera setting)?

Cool feature, do you know if you can tag your own face (marking it as a person of interest) and link it to an action such as "door unlock" ? That way you don't have to worry about pin's or NFC cards or tags.. it just unlocks every time you approach the front door.

Does Ubiquiti ever respond to your requests for new software features? I'd like to be able to request Notification if the face of a person coming through my front gate is NOT recognized.

So silly to me the doorbell camera doesn’t support facial recognition, but does support other AI recognitions. Huge miss IMO.

Great feature update, is there a notification if the camera detects an unknown person? I have a direct request for such a feature from a customer.

So it looks like all of this works on the 4K AI Cameras only. Would be nice if they bring it to the G4/G5 Pro's as well as they are also 4K, but not sure it will happen as that may reduce the sales on the AI versions

I've found it to be a lot more accurate than license plate detection.

Thank you for covering this. What I don't understand is the difference between the AI bullet, for example, and the new Turret style cameras when it comes to AI. The Turrets say they have AI but on Cody's video people are replying to my comment that those will not do facial recognition even though they say AI. I hope UI addresses this as I am confused.

I am just now viewing this video. I am going to use a hypothetical scenario to pose this question. Assume you have a children's daycare center. One parent has a restraining order disallowing them contact with their child.

Can a picture of that person be added to the image database so an alert can be generated it that person is detected?

We can't get the "RECOGNITION" button to show up on our Protect. What did you do. We are running 3.0.22 as well.

is there a way to add people into you facial database proactively? like can you register them through the app? also are you able to make it so that any face that has not been registered sends you an alert?
