what's up y'all. This how we plumb up our equipment slabs. we took off for new years so i needed a video to fill in so here you go.

we used all pentair equipment for all of our swimming.

We use sch40 pvc for everything. Presure fitting aswell
Depending on the pool size and whats in it it rake a out 1 hour to plumb ip the slab.
We’ve gotten to a point in the business that have jesus do our plumbing is way for feasible, then hiring an employee to take on that even though it wouldn’t take much it still works out good for us.

On this pool we are installing a salt system as well so ill show you how we do that.

Every part of how we plumb our pads up is ver specific. It is taking a lot of years of working with maintenance guys our own knowledge and understanding pool equipment to get where we are now to create the most optimized efficient, swimming pool pad.

Drop your questions below and enjoy!

Great video - not a project that I will need to do but I appreciate the time taken to show the entire process clearly and to voice over the explanation of what is being done. I have watch a couple of your videos and can confidently say that you are what is known as 'good people'.

Clean plumbing work, solid set up. That pad is heavy duty lol

Great install. Only thing I would have added couplings for ease of maintenance in the future.

Curious why you wouldn't do a bypass for the heater?

The room is very good more people should do that

curious, why the couplings in front of both unions at the wet end of the pump and the discharge?

Hey Jonathan,

We've got an inground concrete pool and spa with two pumps – one for the pool and one for the spa. Our pool holds 30, 000 gallons.

We've stopped using the spa and the heater altogether.
The issue is with the water, as it still runs through the spa and heater even though they're not in use.
What can be a solution for this problem?

Is it possible to have a plumber come out and replumb everything without digging or filling in the spa for this summer?

Clearance around the air conditioner compressor should be at least 1 ft, with 3 ft being a better practice and that is for plants or walls, not things that give off heat! It needs cool air flow to operate efficiently and it looks like you are right next to it, below the min. dist. The pool heater will make the A/C work harder and any chlorinated water on the A/C unit will make it fail much sooner. It is also right in front of a windows. Is this an electric heater as gas heaters can't be that close to windows that can ever be opened. What are the wires coiled up under the window? The cement slab is above the foundation wall and over several rows of bricks. Moisture can get trapped between and cause the mortar to deteriorate much faster. Eventually the exterior wall will need to be repaired. To fix this, the pad and all will need to be ripped out to fix the wall. Yes, I saw the caulk between the two, but that is a Band-Aid after the fact. Is that an electric motor almost directly under the down spout? I know it's not done and i'm sure they will run it into a French drain, but down spout connectors are always getting knocked off and eventually the motor and controls will be periodically bathed in water. Possibly getting between the bricks and slap. Was the side caulked? The 3 ft of pipe coming out of the heater, making a turn into the salt cell and going another 3 ft before turning into the ground should be supported at least once at the corner. I put a fence around my pad to keep people out, but neighbor kids like to play hide and seek and it's an excellent place to hide behind the fence while they stepping on everything. Next step for me is an electric fence from farm-n-fleet, but I digress. I'm no expert, but all in all, great job. You have to work with the space you are given. Lots of things to look out for. I love the pad size (room to work and expand) vs. space used, the Colonial Valves, and Pentair's drain for the filter being in the front! I'd add the valve contraption for the front of the filter so you can back wash the canister filters.

I see you put the sacrificial anode between the pump and filter, which is what I've seen everyone else do also and assume this was correct, but my inspector is telling me it has to be below grade level before the pump to always have a constant water supply. Have you ever heard of this? It sounds stupid because how am I supposed to get it to replace the anode later.

I don't understand the 18" riser from pump to filter. Can you answer this?

hey do I need a main drain for a kiddie pool 25'x15' and 18" deep?- it is inground

Question if the pool is 10, 000 why not oversize the filter maybe with 320sq ft cartridge filter

Should this also have a heater bypass?

I’m pretty sure those are ball valves being installed, not check valves.

Can the pool equipment be mounted on a ground level deck?

The one thing I do not like is the use of ball valves which tend to wear down much quicker and hard to replace compare to other valves so I am highly against using ball valves in general

better off having your heat pump on its own heating and return lines and own pump
