To his defense. Staying in one place lets them break around him. Trying to move creates infinite angles for him to potentially continue getting caught in the play.

Incredible how calm and nice the ref reacted. If that talk was happening in my homecountry the ref would've probably thrown him some cheeky line hahaha

As a USAH ref (Ik this is the NHL so it might be a little different but it might be the same) we’re told to stay in a “golden triangle” it’s from the corner wall on the goal line to the outside hash marks to the goal post we’re told to stay on the edge of that triangle while I think he could’ve been in better position he was technically in the correct position

Interesting video. It shows Conor running into the referee (note the orange strip on the jersey) but the subsequent conversation was with the linesman (no orange strip). Two different people.
