Bellini - Beatrice di Tenda - Sutherland, Horne, Cassily, Sordello / Rescigno - N Y, 21 Febr.1961

This is a very fine audience recording of the Beatrice di Tenda performance, which marked the debut of Joan Sutherland, as well as Marilyn Horne in New York. It was an evening of glorious singing and of course a great succes !!! The recording you hear is the unfiltered version, copied from the recording made in the the Hall. I remember that the pirate label Bella Voce issued the recording, but always ,as they were used to, in a filtered version.. So now you can hear the recording as it really was in its pure form !
The picture I used was taken after the Carnegie Hall performance a few days later. From left to right : Joan Sutherland, Enzo Sordello and Marilyn Horne !
